Topshop and Statement skirts

Easter Sunday was the perfect day to bring out my favorite Topshop skirt again, the last time I wore this was in the fall for an interview. The pastel colors and print coordinated perfectly with my dusty pink fascinator I made years ago when running my millinery business. One of the things I was most excited about once we found out we were moving to England, was the fact that I would get to wear the hats and fascinators I created years ago without getting funny looks from people. Sure enough, I was not the only member of church that morning wearing a colorful array of blooms on my head, the pews were filled with hats!
In regards to my wardrobe, I am finding that my daily choices usually involve something bold with a neutral. And I like it, the bold pieces can be more trendy where as the neutrals really last season after season, for years!! This Easter was different for both my husband and I as it was our first Easter away from family, I spent the entire day baking and organizing the flat, while he spent the entire day cooking and painting our bedroom (finally added the second coat). IT was a productive and relaxing day, we skyped with family for hours and I went to bed that night almost thinking  I was in Portland again, even if just for a moment. As the months tick on in England some things get easier, the distraction of Spring has me giddy and feeling creative, and now that we are past the major family holidays, maybe the next few months will be easier emotionally! Cheers to our first Easter in England!
