Travel: Palma De Mallorca, Spain

(The first thing you see when you  land, the beautiful coast line_
Summer is almost gone so I figured why not wrap it up by reliving last months summer adventure to Spain! In July I got to visit the Spanish Islands for the first time and was completely smitten upon arrival. The sunshine, reading on the beach (and in the warm water), the delicious tapas and seafood, the sun kissed beach goers, the old architecture, it was very much refreshing and very much needed!  Palma resembled Southern California beaches but with Hawaiian waters, it was the old Spanish architecture that continued to remind us that we were indeed in Spain. This trip was all about relaxing and eating, the next trip will be about adventure and exploring!
I would recommend the islands, but I have also heard great things about Spanish mainland and cannot wait to book our trip to Barcelona, until then, enjoy some photos of the Spanish Islands on your Saturday morning!
(so many old buildings clumped together with tiny alleyways in between)
(courtyards and balconies full of beautiful palms)
After exploring the old city in the morning, grab lunch and head to the beach!!
I look forward to exploring Spain even further, and next time I promise more photos ;)

#WearLadyEvelyn

The 2015 collection of Lady Evelyn by Jade Rose debuts Winter 2014!
Follow #WearLadyEvelyn on instagram as we head to the USA for our collection photo shoot!
The above is a sneak peek at a bridal editorial from Tuscany, Italy where last month I styled both veils and this gorgeous lace gown for my new bridal line, Lady Evelyn! I've been patiently waiting to share the images with you and that time has almost arrived!
Lady Evelyn is for the sophisticated and glamourous woman, the detail oriented, hard working chic lady in all of us. Designing and creating this gown brought os much joy that I've decided to do it again for the debut collection! I cannot wait to show you what I've been working on these past few months and why I've not been as active on Jade Rose Blog. Stay tuned!!
In the meantime, what do you think?!

Leeds West Indian Carnival

(costume prep)
Yesterday our neighborhood had a fabulous party and parade celebrating culture with bright costumes and delicious jerk chicken! I loved the performers and the bold outfits! We started our day off with walking down the block (through the rain and wind) to the local park that was filled with vendors serving jerk chicken, goat curry, and if you were lucky- Jamaican Rum. Music was blasting (we're talking 10 speakers to each front yard) every few houses. My lungs were vibrating to the tunes of reggae and our bellies were full of some home cookin'. We finished the afternoon by cheering on and dancing with the procession of beautifully handmade costumes. They all started posing for me and the camera ;) Enjoy a little piece of our world!
(Happy Husband)
Waiting for the parade, rum punch in a posh glass ;)
Like mother...
...like daughter!
A fabulous time was had by all!

Cashmere Leopard

Autumn is for cashmere sweaters (or jumpers as they call them out here). I also just recently learned that the word Fall is not used here in England, we have entered Autumn, if you say Fall you will confusion and laughs ;) With that said, it has been cold and rainy all week! Leaves are falling and the air is getting crisper. I have begun packing for Portland, as I will be there for two months to celebrate my sis-in-laws wedding and to produce a beautiful photo shoot with my favorite, talented ladies! Until then, I'm layering not for the look but for the warmth!
and then I fell off the wall... ;)

Zara Leather Joggers

Win! I must admit, I felt a little Sporty Spice in this outfit today (as the images below prove). These faux leather joggers from Zara are not only comfy, but they make you look way more dressed up than you really are. I can literally run out of the house in my sneaks and run errands and then change into my favorite heels to instantly glam up the look. I'm taking advantage of the sunny mornings as by mid afternoon everything that is England is soaking wet. These photos were snapped just around the corner of our flat, an old church sits right next to our doctors office (also in a very old and equally as cool looking building). England is so beautiful! This week I start packing for our visit back home to Portland, Oregon!!! I love England, but I'm ready for some family time!

The Leopard Print Dress

In most scenarios of my life, less is more. Our flat, my wardrobe, when on vacation, we try to keep things minimal. The same goes with my daily dressing, I may have a bold printed, bright colored piece of clothing or shoe that  I wear, but you will find very minimal accessorizing. My glasses (or sunnies), purse, and the occasional lipstick usually make the cut. Every day life is simple- jewelry makes me feel claustrophobic and I have never been good at layering. Soooo, if you are one who loves the accessories like army candy etc, just remember, that less can be more, especially if you're wearing a head to toe print.
Dress: Mango// Heels: Target (old) // Wallet: Kate Spade NY// Sunnies: Warby Parker (c/o)
